Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026 · For visitors and customers in the United States.

This page explains what personal information we collect when you visit this site or buy The Italian Week, why we use it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do about it. We are a small Italian business, and we collect the least we can get away with.

Write to that address for anything on this page. It is the same address a person answers from.

The short version. We collect your name, email and order details so we can send you what you bought. We use cookies to see how the site is doing and to measure our ads. We do not sell your personal information. You can ask us to show you what we have, correct it, or delete it, and we will.

1Where your data goes

We are based in Italy. That means when you buy from us, your information is transferred to and stored in the European Union, and handled by service providers in the EU and in the United States. The European Union has data protection rules that are, if anything, stricter than the ones you are used to, and we apply them to everyone who buys from us, wherever they live.

2What we collect

WhatWhere it comes from
Name, email address, phone numberYou type it into the checkout or a form on this site
Order details: product, amount, date, and billing details if you ask for an invoiceCreated when you place an order
Payment informationHandled by Stripe. Your full card number never reaches us and we never store it
Site usage: IP address, browser and device, pages viewed, what you clickedCookies and similar technologies. See the Cookie Policy
What you write to usThe emails and messages you send for support

We do not ask for and do not want any sensitive information: no health details, no dietary or medical conditions, nothing about your family. If you send us something like that in a support email, we use it only to answer you.

3Why we use it

PurposeOur basis for it
Take your order, deliver the files, answer your questionsPerforming the contract with you
Tax and accounting recordsA legal obligation we have in Italy
Service emails about your orderPerforming the contract with you
Marketing emails about our own productsYour consent. Every one has a one-click unsubscribe
Analytics, measuring our ads, keeping the site secureYour consent for non-essential cookies, and our legitimate interest in a site that works

Giving us your details is necessary to buy: without them we cannot take the order or send you the product. Giving us consent to market to you is entirely optional, and saying no changes nothing about what you bought.

4Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We share it only with the providers that make the service work, each acting on our instructions:

ProviderWhat it does
GoHighLevelHosts this site, the forms, the checkout and our contact records
StripeProcesses payments
Meta (Facebook, Instagram)Measures our advertising. See the Cookie Policy
Google AnalyticsAggregate statistics about how the site is used
Email and invoicing providersSending your files and meeting our tax obligations

Beyond those, we share information only with the professionals who help us run the business (our accountant, for example) and with the authorities when the law requires it.

5How long we keep it

  • Order and billing records: ten years, because Italian tax law says so.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
  • Support emails: as long as needed to deal with the matter, and then not much longer.
  • Cookies: for the periods set out in the Cookie Policy.

6What you can ask us to do

These rights are yours wherever you live. We do not make you prove you are in a particular state before we help you.

  • Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Get a copy of it, in a form you can take elsewhere.
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete it, except the order records we are legally required to keep for tax.
  • Object to marketing, and withdraw a consent you gave us, at any time.
  • Limit how we use it while a question about it is being sorted out.

Write to [email protected] from the address you bought with. We answer these ourselves, and we do not charge for it or make it difficult. You will never be treated differently, or offered a worse price, because you asked.

7If you are in California

Under California law you have the rights listed above, and these two things are worth saying plainly:

  • We do not sell your personal information and we have not sold it in the past twelve months.
  • When our advertising cookies are active, information about your visit is shared with Meta so we can measure whether our ads work. Under California law that counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising, even though no money changes hands. You can stop it: turn off marketing cookies in the cookie settings on this site, or email us and we will do it for you.

We treat a Global Privacy Control signal sent by your browser as a valid request to stop that sharing.

You may also authorize someone to make a request for you. We will ask for enough information to be sure the request really comes from you, which usually means confirming the email address on the order.

8Children

This site and these products are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to us and we will delete them.

9Security

We use reputable providers, we keep access to our accounts limited and protected, and we do not keep information we no longer need. No system is perfect, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If something ever goes wrong in a way that affects you, we will tell you.

10Complaints

Write to us first: [email protected]. If you are in the European Union and you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

11Changes to this policy

We update this page when the tools we use or the law change. The version in force is the one published here, with the date at the top.
